Helena Robin Bordie is Head of Global Macro and Energy Research at Rio Tinto, a position she has held since 2011. She has accountability for cross-commodity macroeconomics and primary research, scenarios, and country risk assessment. Robin spent the first part of her career in government, primarily as a Foreign Service Officer for the US Department of State. Her professional exposure to commodities began during her tenure at the US Embassy in Beijing, where she worked on negotiations related to the final stage of China’s bid to join the WTO. Since 2003, she has worked in economics-related roles for BHP, Noble Resources, and currently, Rio Tinto.
